Spanish Style Sardine Kale Caesar Salad

Ingredients
- 1 can King Oscar Skinless & Boneless Sardines Spanish Style, oil reserved
- 2 cups chopped kale
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cups romaine lettuce (chopped or whole leaves)
- 1 cup croutons
- 1 large avocado, cubed
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- Black pepper, to personal taste
For the Caesar Dressing: Make our homemade classic Caesar dressing recipe or use your favorite bottled dressing
Spanish-style sardines over massaged kale and crisp romaine with creamy Caesar dressing, croutons, cubed avocado, and parmesan for a heartier take on a classic.
Instructions
- To tenderize or soften the kale leaves: Add kale to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil. Gently rub or massage the oil into the kale leaves.
- On serving plates, divide the lettuce and kale.
- Add the croutons, avocado, sardines, and vegetables from the sardine can.
- Top with Caesar dressing and black pepper.
- For additional flavor, drizzle some of the reserved sardine oil over the salad. Or save the reserved oil as a dipping oil for the croutons or bread.
